Here you can find answers for mostly asked questions.

- What does your first and last name mean? Are they real?

Valerie Fadeeva is my real name. The name is of Latin origin and its meaning is «strong» and «healthy». In American meaning this is «to be strong» and in French is «brave» and «strong». The last name was formed from Russian name Faddey which means «to praise». It’s interesting that there are 7 letters in my name and my last name. And 7 is my lucky number.

- According to numerology you can know a person’s character making some calculations by a date of birth, name and last name. What do you think about it? Were such calculations made for you?

Yes, such calculations were made for me. According to them people who have just the same numbers as me are popular, kindhearted and romantic. They are artistic, inventive and attentive. They always remain happy and are also trustworthy. They like leading a life of pleasure. They have autocracy attitude. They are strong, intelligent and confident. Their intellects make them create splendid possibilities for themselves and others.

Such people are jovial and like socializing. They also love children. They are creative and try to do many things. They must express themselves. They are very social and great uplifters. They are ambitious and philosophical. They are versatile and have an optimistic attitude. They love independence and variations in life. They are intellectuals. They love to travel and are adventurous. Travel normally brings good fortune and advancement in life. Such people are anxious and restless, because they have too much surplus energy. They have strong sexual urge and attract the opposite sex.

Here is the exact description of my character because I have all these qualities and skills.

- What sign are you by horoscope?

I was born in a year of a Cat or Rabbit. My astrological sign is Crab.

- Are you an «owl» or a «lark»?

I’m an «owl». I feel full of energy myself at nights.

- What dreams did you have about your future profession when you were a child? Did your dreams come truth?

When I was 5 I decided to be a teacher just like my granny. I tried to fulfill this wish. To tell the truth when I was 16 I thought that it wasn’t so interesting to be a teacher of primary school and repeat just the same things every 3 years so I entered the University at another Department. I’ve got a diploma as a philologist and a teacher of English, Russian and Literature. So I can teach both children and adults. To be a teacher was my “official” dream because my relatives supported this wish. I also wanted to create my own school. I had another cherished dream and this was to be a writer. I’ve always felt delight and jealous when I looked at books on bookshelves at home, at the libraries and in bookstores. But my parents thought that my wish was impossible. My school teachers and University professors valued my literary talents though… So now I’m happy that «the impossible thing» has happened.

- Where did you work before you became a writer?

At the age of 16 my friend and I were selling newspapers about healthy ways of life in summer. Since 16 I have taught English giving private lessons. Since 19 when I studied at the University I worked as a teacher of English at school. After graduating the Pedagogical University I worked as a teacher of English, Russian and Literature at special linguistic school. Then I was offered a post of deputy director at school. But just at that time I found out that I was pregnant. I was going to work though. But the director being a wise woman gave me a piece of advice to concentrate on my future baby. She said that it was the most important thing in my life at that time. I followed her advice. She also told me that my life would change completely when I have a baby. She was right and after my daughter was born I didn’t want to come back to school, neither this school nor another one. When my daughter was 1 year and 3 months I was offered to work as a journalist in a newspaper. In a while I worked as an editor-in-chief in another newspaper, after this I worked as a Head of Business Communication Department at the Academy of Business. I also worked as a translator for Oil Company.

- What’s your education?

I have gained some diplomas. I’ve graduated from Volgograd State Pedagogical University (profession - philologist, qualification – a teacher of English, Russian and Literature). According to another diploma, I’m a manager in social sphere, qualification – education manager. Also I graduated from Church-singer school «Concordia».

- When were you published for the 1st time? How did it happen?

It happened in 2002. My friend asked me to give an interview about my travel to Holland for a newspaper. We met when I was walking with my little daughter. In some days I read the text, edited it and added something. Soon a huge article with my photos came out! After it I was offered to work as a journalist.

- Tell us about your 1st book.

My 1st book came out in 2006, publishing-house «RIPOL classic». It happened almost on my birthday! So I got a wonderful gift. It was the 1st book of series «Your Wonderful Child», «A Mum and a Baby. From Pregnancy till 1 Year».

- Is it hard to be a writer?

As for me I really enjoy working as a writer. Of course, to be a writer you should have creative abilities, rich imagination, to be educative, to learn something new all the time, to deal with a lot of information. You should be persistent, disciplined, hard-working, confident, sociable and observant. You should also write correctly and of course you should know how to work on a computer. I have all these qualities and skills.

- Do you need special conditions for work? How long do you wait for inspiration?

I always have inspiration. There are always so many ideas crowded on my mind. And all of them can’t wait to be written down. I type on computer slower than create though.

I don’t work certain hours. I work as much as I can. Usually I work 10-12 hours a day. I also don’t have 2 days off every week and compulsory annual vocation as the most people have. During my work I listen to the music or eat chocolate, dry fruits and nuts and drink orange juice. So I have everything to enjoy working.

- What do you like in your profession most of all?

First of all I really enjoy the process of writing. I like watching how words which were recently just on my mind appear in my computer. When I prepare for writing a book and collect material I find out so many interesting things!

One of the biggest advantages is a possibility to wear clothes I want when I work. I also can plan my working hours, I can go to bed and get up when I want. I shouldn’t spend much time to get to work. Everything I need is to switch a computer on and I’m already at work. Because of my work I can take care of my daughter and do all housework not only in evenings.

I also enjoy talking to people, travel, present my books. I’m happy that I can share my thoughts with a lot of people and help them. It’ so wonderful: I write a book, it is published and because of many copies a lot of people can read it! So I shouldn’t repeat the same things thousand times!
And the most important thing about writing is knowing that your work is very important and useful for many people.

- Do you like to read?

Reading is my passion. I’ve been reading very much since I learned how to do it. At first I did it for fun and then it became my profession.

Really during my study at the University we, students, had lists of books recommended for reading (both Russian and Foreign Literature) to pass exams. There were like 200 or even more books a year! And I was a good student…

It happened that I was reading all night. And now I’m trying not to read all the time because I also have to write!

- What were your favorite books when you were a child?

I liked a lot of books. Here are just some of them: «Alice in Wonderland», «Through the Looking-glass» by Lewis Carrol , «The Nutcracker and the Mouse King» by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffman, legends about Robin Hood and King Arthur, «Gulliver’s Adventures» by Jonathan Swift, «Snow Queen» by Hans Christian Andersen, «A Wizard of Emerald Town» by Alexander Volkov and his other books, «A Road Goes Ahead» by Alexandra Brushtein.

- What are your favorite books?

Since old times I’ve been loved the following books: «Sulamif», «Olesya», «Solomon’s Star» by Alexander Kuprin, «Three friends» by Erich Maria Remarque, «Letters for a stranger» by Andre Maurois, «Gone with the Wind» by Margaret Mitchel, «Tess of the D’urbervilles» by Thomas Hardy, «A Little Mistress of a Big House» by Jack London, «Jane Eyre» by Charlotte Bronte, «The Bridges of Madison County» by Robert James Waller. There is a sad or even tragic final in these books (I’ve never liked it). But I liked the idea that there were many wise sayings there.

Now my favorite books are positive. Some of them are: books by Natalia Pravdina, «Mind Power into the 21st Century» by John Kehoe, «The Secrets of Abundant Health», «The Secrets of Abundant Happiness», «Secrets of Abundant Wealth», «Secrets of Abundant Love» by Adam J. Jackson, «The Alchemist» by Paulo Coelho, «Illusions», «Jonathan Livingston Seagull», «The Bridge Across Forever», «A True Love Story» by Richard Bach.

- What are your favorite movies?

If I name all my favorite movies the list will be very long… So there are just some of them:
«The Secret», «Bruce Almighty», «Bedazzled», «Interstate 60», «Ring of the Nibelungs», «Brave Heart», «The Notebook», «Gone with the Wind», «What Women Want», «P.S. I Love you». My favorite children’s fairy-tales: «Three Nuts for Cinderella», «Charlie and the Chocolate Factory», «Nanny McPhee».

- Do you believe in miracles?

Yes, I do. They happen to me time after time. The next miracle is going to happen very soon…

- Do you think that ghosts exist?

Of course, ghosts exist. I was in England just in the place where some people told me they saw them but I haven’t met them yet though. I think ghosts appear in front of people who should meet them.

- What’s your marital status?

I’m not married.

- Do you have any children?

Yes, I do. I have a wonderful daughter.

- Do you like traveling?

IYes, I do. I always have amazing adventures when I travel.

- Do your dreams come true?

Yes, they do, mostly of them.

- Do you think you’re a happy person?

Yes, I do. I’m a happy person anyway.

- What makes you happy?

My family and my friends.
I’m happy seeing people smiling when they look at me, when they tell me thanks for great books and ask me to write faster and more and more, when I read good reviews about my books.

There are a lot of things which make me happy. Some of them are – talking to people I love and who love me, traveling, walking in the sunset, romantic dinner with candles or by a fireplace, holiday fireworks, reading, writing (of course), eating chocolate, tasty cake, ice-cream, good perfume, favorite music, making performances, acting, dancing, interesting movies, beautiful arts…

And also I’m happy when my dreams which seemed to be impossible to come truth.

- What’s your credo in life?

Oh, I have so many favorite wise sayings which help me. I write them down in my notebooks. You can find some of them in the item «Useful Sayings» on my site.

These are the most favorite for today:

«Everything what exist in the world now was a dream before» (Carl Sandburg)

«If you want a life to smile at you first give it your good mood» (Spinoza)

«You're never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true» (Richard Bach)

Here is my favorite poem:

Rudyard Kipling «If»

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream-and not make dreams your master;
If you can think-and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: «Hold on!»
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And-which is more-you'll be a Man, my son!

- Do you speak any foreign languages?

Yes, I do. I can read, speak and write in English. I’m also going to learn Spanish, French and German.

- What would you like to wish to your readers?

Everything is possible in our life! You can get everything you wish. Just learn to make wishes and fulfill them correctly. Believe in yourself.
Enjoy life. It’s wonderful. And remember that a fairy-tale is our life and our life is a fairy-tale.

Sincerely yours, Valerie Fadeeva
